Everything you need to know about joining Servy as a Cleaning provider.
Servy connects Auckland homeowners with trusted, vetted cleaners for regular cleans, deep cleans, and end-of-lease cleans. If you take pride in your work and want a steady stream of local bookings without the hassle of finding your own clients, Servy is built for you. Here are the answers to the questions we hear most from cleaning providers.
How to grow your cleaning business
Practical advice from Servy — because your success is our success.
🔁
Build a recurring client base
One-off cleans are fine; fortnightly regulars are where real income comes from. Make every first clean a showcase — most satisfied customers will rebook if you ask.
📸
Document your work with photos
Before/after photos build trust and reinforce quality in the customer's mind. Use the Servy app's photo feature — it also protects you if a dispute ever arises.
⬆️
Upsell deep cleans and end-of-lease
These are higher-value, high-urgency jobs. If a customer books a regular clean, let them know you also do deep cleans. One upsell per week adds up fast.
⏱️
Systematise each job type
Develop a consistent room-by-room process. A faster, more systematic clean without cutting corners means more jobs per day and a higher effective hourly rate.
🗣️
Ask every happy customer for a referral
Cleaning is a trust business. A recommendation from a neighbour converts faster than any ad. After a great job, ask if they know anyone who needs help — most people do, and most will say yes.
Frequently Asked Questions
Servy is a two-sided marketplace connecting customers in Auckland with trusted local home service providers. Once you're onboarded and verified, customers can discover your profile and book you directly through the Servy app. You receive the job details, confirm your availability, complete the work, and get paid — all through the platform.
Nothing. Joining Servy as a provider is completely free. There are no sign-up fees, no monthly subscriptions, and no hidden costs. You only earn — you never pay to be on the platform.
Payments are processed securely through Stripe Connect. Once a job is marked complete and any brief dispute window has passed, funds are transferred to your nominated bank account. Payouts are typically processed within 2–5 business days of job completion.
Servy takes a 5% platform fee from each customer payment. You keep the remaining 95% of every booking, plus 100% of any tips the customer chooses to leave. That's it — no other deductions.
Yes, completely. You control your calendar. You set which days and hours you're available, and you can update this any time through the provider app. You're never forced to accept a job — if a booking request doesn't suit you, you can decline it.
When a customer books a service in your area during your available hours, you'll receive a notification. You can review the job details — location, scope, and price — before accepting. Jobs are matched based on your location, service type, and availability. The more responsive and highly rated you are, the more prominently your profile is shown to customers.
If a customer cancels with more than 24 hours' notice, no cancellation fee applies. If they cancel within 24 hours of the scheduled job — or are unavailable when you arrive — a cancellation fee equal to one hour of your rate is charged to the customer, and a portion of this is passed on to you to compensate for your time.
We encourage customers and providers to resolve issues directly first. If that doesn't work, our support team will review the situation, look at any job photos and communications, and mediate a fair outcome. Maintaining high ratings is important — consistently low-rated providers may be removed from the platform.
Yes. Before your first job goes live on Servy, you'll need to hold your own New Zealand public liability insurance policy. We require this to protect both you and the customer. You can apply and complete the onboarding process while you arrange your cover — just have it in place before you start accepting jobs. We'll guide you through what's needed.
Auckland-wide, today. Other major New Zealand cities come next, based on where the demand is. If you're based in Auckland, you're in the right place — apply now and you can be taking jobs as soon as you're approved and insured.
Yes — providers are expected to bring their own professional-grade cleaning products and equipment (mop, vacuum, cloths, etc.). Customers are not required to supply anything. If a customer has a specific product preference or allergy, they can note this in their booking and you can discuss it before the job.
Servy offers three cleaning categories: regular cleans (routine weekly or fortnightly visits), deep cleans (thorough top-to-bottom cleans, often one-off), and end-of-lease cleans (detailed bond cleans for tenants moving out). You can indicate in your profile which types you specialise in or prefer, and jobs will be matched accordingly.
Regular cleans for a standard 3-bedroom home typically take 2–3 hours. Deep cleans and end-of-lease cleans can take 4–8 hours depending on the property size and condition. Job duration and scope are shown to you before you accept, so you always know what you're committing to.
This is exactly why we require all providers to hold public liability insurance. If a genuine accident occurs, your insurance policy is the first line of protection. Servy also has a dispute resolution process where both parties can share photos and details. Our team reviews these case by case and works toward a fair outcome for everyone.
Yes. All Servy providers go through an identity verification and background check process as part of onboarding. This protects customers and helps build the trust that makes Servy bookings valuable. The check is straightforward and we'll guide you through it — it typically takes just a few days.
