Lawn Mowing & Garden Maintenance in Auckland

Regular lawn mowing, one-off cuts for overgrown lawns, weeding and garden clean-ups from a vetted local pro. Green waste is dealt with as part of the job, and the price is fixed before you book.

Coverage: Auckland-wide

What's included

Regular lawn mowing

Mowing, line-trimming and edging on a weekly or fortnightly schedule, booked once and repeated automatically.

One-off & overgrown lawns

A single cut when the grass has got away from you, after a holiday, or before an open home. Overgrown lawns take longer, and the price reflects that up front.

Hedge trimming

Boundary and box hedges trimmed and shaped, and overgrown hedges cut back, with the clippings dealt with.

Weeding & garden maintenance

Garden bed weeding and general tidying, on its own or added to a regular mow, so the section looks after itself between visits.

Garden clean-ups

The spring growth flush and autumn leaf drop both create jobs bigger than a standard mow. Book a one-off clean-up to get back on top of it.

Green waste removal

Clippings and garden waste are part of the job. Pros with a trailer take it away; on small jobs it can go in your green bin. Large volumes are noted in the booking.

Rental & pre-sale tidy-ups

Landlords and property managers can book a tidy before new tenants move in, and sellers can book one before photos or an open home.

Tree removal, structural landscaping, irrigation installation and chemical spraying sit outside this category. Servy pros bring their own mower, trimmer, edger and blower for everything above.

What sets the price

Two things: the size of the property, which you enter when booking, and the work you pick, whether that's a mow only or a mow with edging and weeding. Servy shows the price before you confirm, so there's no on-site quote visit and nothing added on the day.

An overgrown lawn or a first visit to a section nobody has touched in months is more work than a regular mow, so book it as a one-off clean-up first and switch to a regular schedule after.

How often to mow in Auckland

Auckland grass grows all year. DairyNZ's measured growth figures from Tomarata, the one monitoring site inside the Auckland region, peak in October at more than double the July rate, and the winter months still run at a little over half the October rate.

In practice that means weekly or fortnightly mows through spring and early summer, every two to three weeks in autumn, and roughly monthly in winter. A dry late summer can slow things down when you'd expect the lawn to need the most attention. Regular bookings can be adjusted as the season changes.

Lawns and gardens at rental properties

Tenancy Services' default split makes routine lawn mowing and weeding the tenant's job, and pruning trees, shrubs and hedges the landlord's. A specific clause in the tenancy agreement can change that. Our guide below covers what the Residential Tenancies Act says and how garden condition affects a bond claim.

How booking works

  1. Describe the job

Pick the service in the Servy app, add your address, a date and time, and the details of the job.

  2. See the price, then confirm

A fixed price shows before you book. No quote visit, no callback, no callout fee added at the end.

  3. A vetted local pro accepts

You're notified when a provider accepts. Payment is held until the job is marked complete.
