Handyman for Small Jobs & General Labour in Auckland

A local handyman for the small jobs that keep sliding down the list: flat-pack assembly, pictures and shelves, heavy lifting, clear-outs and odd jobs. Vetted, insured, and the price is fixed before you book.

Coverage: Auckland-wide

What's included

Furniture & flat-pack assembly

Kitset and flat-pack furniture, shelving and homewares assembled and put in place.

Hanging & wall fixing

Pictures, mirrors and shelves hung level and fixed properly, with the drill, spirit level and fixings the job needs.

Heavy lifting & shifting

An extra pair of hands for moving heavy furniture around the house, up stairs, or into a garage or shed.

Clear-outs & tip runs

Garage, shed and section clear-outs, with light rubbish removal. Say how much there is and whether it needs to leave the property.

TV wall mounting

TV brackets fixed into studs or masonry, the TV hung level and the cables tidied.

Small repairs & maintenance

Minor fixes and general home maintenance that don't need a licensed trade.

Light yard work

Shifting garden materials, clearing debris and other outdoor jobs that are more muscle than gardening.

General labour never covers electrical, gas fitting, plumbing or structural building work, or anything else that legally requires a licensed trade in New Zealand. See our guide on what a handyman can and can't legally do below.

Put your small jobs in one booking

Most handyman work is a short visit, and the travel and setup cost the same whether the job takes twenty minutes or two hours. List everything in one booking: the flat-pack in the spare room, the shelf in the hallway, the mirror that's been leaning against the wall since you moved in. The price is set from the job description, so the more complete the list, the more accurate it is.

If the provider arrives and finds the job is much bigger than described, they'll talk it through with you in the app before starting anything that wasn't booked.

What a handyman can and can't do in NZ

New Zealand reserves electrical work, gas fitting, sanitary plumbing and restricted building work for licensed trades, however simple the job looks. A handyman swapping a light fitting in your home is doing licensed electrical work, and replacing a toilet or shower is sanitary plumbing. Assembling furniture, hanging things on walls, shifting heavy items and clearing out a garage aren't.

If a job touches wiring, gas, the water supply or the structure of the house, book a licensed tradesperson for that part. Our guide below explains exactly where the line sits.

How booking works

  1. Describe the job

Pick the service in the Servy app, add your address, a date and time, and the details of the job.

  2. See the price, then confirm

A fixed price shows before you book. No quote visit, no callback, no callout fee added at the end.

  3. A vetted local pro accepts

You're notified when a provider accepts. Payment is held until the job is marked complete.
