Coverage: Auckland-wide

What's included

TV wall mounting

Fixed, tilting and swing-arm brackets fixed into timber studs or masonry, and the TV hung level at the height you choose.

Cable tidying

The TV's own power, HDMI and aerial cords run neatly in surface conduit, or through the wall cavity where the wall allows it.

Soundbars & shelves

Soundbar brackets and floating shelves for set-top boxes and consoles, mounted to match.

Adding or moving a power point behind the TV is electrical work for a registered electrician, and aerial or satellite dish installation is a specialist job. Neither is part of TV mounting.

The wall decides how it's fixed

Most Auckland houses have plasterboard over timber framing. A TV bracket has to go into the studs behind the plasterboard, not into the plasterboard alone, which is why a stud finder comes before the drill. Brick and concrete block walls take masonry anchors instead. Note your wall type and the TV's size in the booking so the right fixings come with the job.

Swing-arm brackets put far more load on the wall when the TV is pulled out, so they need the strongest fixing of the lot.

Cables: what a handyman can do, and what needs an electrician

Running the TV's own power cord, HDMI and aerial cables, either in conduit on the wall or down the inside of the wall cavity to the existing power point, is cable tidying. Installing a new power point behind the TV, or moving an existing one, is electrical work, and in New Zealand anyone doing that in someone else's home must be a registered electrician.

If you want a power point behind the TV, book an electrician for that first, then the mounting.

Store install or book your own?

Retailers bundle installation with the TV. JB Hi-Fi's wall mount and setup service, for example, starts from $349 and includes delivery, bracket installation, tuning and setup, with cable hiding from $99 extra (as listed on its site in October 2026). On Airtasker, Auckland TV wall mounting jobs had a $200 median in October 2026, from a small sample of six reviewed jobs.

Booking your own suits a TV you already own, a bracket bought separately, or a move to a new house. Servy shows a fixed price for the job before you book.
